I am looking forward to seeing all of you after being out last week on vacation. We enjoyed the beach with my family and little Emily. A special thank you to Thomas for covering while I was away. I hope last week's meeting at the park was not too warm!
This is also a reminder that Tammy Mosteller has extended the invitation to our club to attend the District Governor Installation Ceremony at Brick Tree Brewing (414 E Water Street, Lincolnton, NC 28092) this Sunday June 26 from 4-6pm.
If you are interested in attending, please RSVP on DacDb (log into dacdb.com, click on calendar, scroll down to June 25 and register for DG Installation). If you have any questions, you can reach out to DGE Tammy directly.

Past President Thomas Eatmon Presents History of Rescue Squad Park
By Steve Baker
Due to a conflict at Unity Presbyterian Church, the Wednesday, June 15th meeting of the Denver Lake Norman Rotary was held under the big picnic shelter at the Rescue Squad Park. With the scheduled speaker emailing on Monday that he had tested positive for COVID, the speaker void needed to be filled and what better time would it be to talk about the history of the park?
Thomas Eatmon started the discussion by talking about some of the early visions of how the park would help serve the community of East Lincoln. It took a combination of Lincoln County, East Lincoln Rescue Squad, and the Denver Lake Norman Rotary to take this concept to a “let’s do it” beginning. Thanks also to Todd Wulfhorst and Ross Bulla for their contributions to the discussion on Wednesday. Both Rotarians and many others currently in Denver Lake Norman Rotary were instrumental in the Rescue Squad Park development.
There are some great articles that can be found on line. These are listed below. Thanks to Ross Bulla for doing the research and finding the sites.
