A Monthly Magazine About Denver
There is a monthly magazine dedicated to the people, places, and things in Denver. The Denver/Lake Norman Rotary welcomed as its guest speaker on Wednesday, June 8th, Mike Vernon. Mike is the publisher of Denver Lake Living magazine, a monthly publication that goes out to 3,754 homes in the Denver area. Denver Lake Living is completing its first year of distribution. It is one of 1,100 different magazines printed for locations across North America each month by Best Version Media.
Each month the magazine has a “Resident Feature.” This is usually a family that has been suggested and it tells a little about their background. It does not always have to be a family though, as one monthly magazine featured the Denver Fire Department. The magazine is also nonpolitical and there is a group of expert contributors who provide articles each month.
A Calendar of Events section lists activities that are coming up for that magazine month. (There is a content submission deadline located on the Letter to Residents page). This is a wonderful way to ensure one's public event is advertised. Mike talked about an elementary student who will publishes a monthly movie review, which is located on the Kids Corner page. Current charity events appear on the Charity Spotlight page..
Mike mentioned that as our Denver Community grows so will the distribution of the Denver Lake Living Magazine. The magazine is distributed via the US Postal Service. All of the advertisements in the magazine are for local businesses.
Denver Lake Living magazine has a Facebook page with more information. Also, Mike mentioned that in the near future there will be a section for local sports stories where on can contribute. Additional information on that can be found at www.BVMSPORTS.com.
