President's Message

Greetings, Denver/Lake Norman Rotarians!

Another District 7670 Conference is in the books. Ten of us Rotarians and spouses enjoyed a great weekend in Asheville.

This Saturday, May 17th is the first concert in Denver/Lake Norman Rotary's Music in the Park series, featuring the popular local band, Coming Up Brass. The music starts at 6:30 pm, but we can always use help with set-up and parking starting at about 5:30 pm as well as folks to sell raffle tickets during the concert.

Please plan to be at St Peter's on Wednesday morning when our speaker will be our own Chris Grady. See you there!

Panico was happy but unfortunately, I didn’t catch what he said - so sorry!

Andie spoke up saying she will miss Thomas dearly; she thanked him for his service!

Craig said thanks again to Thomas for all his help, during Covid it was the two of them keeping the Rotary team alive. Also he let us know ten of us are going to the District Conference in Asheville. The celebration of life of his wife’s uncle who while alive was able to sell his business for four billion dollars was a testament to an amazing life and family.

Rich thanked for Thomas for all he has done, and noted that he was going to see Pat Benatar in concert.

Joe reminded everyone of the community chorus concerts happening May 8-9-10th at Unity Presbyterian.

Halley said Amy’s house transformation was wonderful, and gave a reminder of Music in the park upcoming.

Joanie gave a few bucks for a great weekend Ballet Friday night and family came in on Saturday, will be seeing her grandson graduating soon with his master’s.

Ellen introduced Rebecca Yoder her associate visiting with us today, her son turned 1 recently and Chamber at Rolling Rock meeting went well.

Jim said it was National Teachers Appreciation Week and thanked Charlie for his contribution.

Ms. Skinner died at 100 years old recently and he brought an Amaryllis bulb that she gave him in 2003 and it was beautiful to see.

Paul gave for the Kentucky Derby that party was fun, and thanked Ross for mixing drinks.

Thomas said softball has ended, Daughter’ team won conference and today is his last day, :-( He is moving to the coast of South Carolina for a new job opportunity.
